Setting the status to Closed means that the maintenance order is financially complete and no further postings are allowed. Incurring cost on the maintenance order means that you can record additional costs for materials, services, or labor that are related to the maintenance work. Settling the maintenance order means that you can distribute the costs of the maintenance order to one or more receivers such as cost centers, assets, or orders.

According to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud, public edition Asset Management Learning Journey1, besides the new/upcoming Central Business Configuration (CBC), you can define measuring point categories, maintenance activity types, and planner groups within the available self-service configuration UIs in SAP S/4HANA Asset Management. Measuring point categories are used to classify measuring points based on their characteristics and usage. Maintenance activity types are used to categorize different types of maintenance work such as corrective, preventive, predictive, etc. Planner groups are used to group together maintenance planners who are responsible for planning and scheduling maintenance work.
